Who is Larry West?

Larry West was born and raised in Philadelphia and, for one reason or another, he never left. I ran for mayor once and lost, but it taught me a lot about life, humility, and utilizing graphic design and an image to catch and keep people's attention.

My art and style has been influenced by a mixture of metal, punk, Pushead, Sam Keith, and Walt Disney. I've been drawing since I was 10, and haven't stopped since. Some of my favorite achievements was working with Megadeth, helping the Comic Book Leal Defence Fund (CBLDF), and being published by Rolling Stone Magazine, all before I was even 25. Past clients include Left Foot Green, Combat Crisis, and Insight Pictures.

I went to Hussian School of Art and received a 4-Year A.S.T. in Illustration. I currently work as a graphic and web designer full-time.

Freelance History

Left Foot Green - Fun With Vengeance

Created an illustration and designed the CD Packaging for their album Fun with Vengeance. Also designed a logo for the band.

Combat Crisis Gig Poster

Asked by the band to illustrate and design a gig poster for the band within 48 hours. The result was one of their favorite pieces, and was later re-used for advertising on iTunes.

Khapra - Sexually Transmitted Democracy T-shirt Design

Designed and illustrated a T-shirt for the band Khapra based on their song "Sexually Transmitted Democracy

Designed and optimized website to promote sexual education among adults

Megadeth Tour Package 2004/05

Created a piece of fan art that was utilized by the band to make addition revisions that was ultimately used for the final

Work Experience

EPK Productions - Lead Production Artist

Storyboard artist for music videos, promoted to main production artist. Duties include ensuring music videos are storyboarded correctly, creating and managing websites and MySpace pages for clients. Still work on an as-needed basis.

Northern Liberty Press/ Yo! Flyers.com - Graphic Designers/Web Designer/Illustrator

Hired at first to intern, later hired to work full-time. Main responsibilities included creating and managing the website for both Northern Liberty Press.com and Yo! Flyers.com, doing periodical graphic design and illustration work, and working on corporate identities.

Winner of the Ruth and Bernard Petlock Award in 2005. Was on the Dean’s List various times, which requires a 3.2 GPA.
